The conference of International Union of Superiors General (UISG) held at Rome on 9-13 May, 2016 upheld the importance of commitment to global solidarity for common good. It also marked the closing of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the UISG as an organization. Sr. Philomena Mathew, the Superior General was one of the 870 members participated in the event which had input sessions, sharing and meeting with Pope Francis. The five-day long meeting reflected on the theme, “Weaving Global Solidarity for Life.” It was in response to the invitation of Pope Francis to a solidarity in support of the future of the planet earth and all its peoples.
