The preliminary days of the Chapter had a set of well thought-out programmes comprised of input sessions by three eminent persons. This two-week long preparative days, 3 - 14 January at Hatigaon offered the Capitulars ample time for prayer and reflection to enter into the days of chapter with clarity of purpose and vision. The first two days’ sessions by Fr. Julian Fernandez SJ initiated the group to focus on spiritual discernment, which is fundamental for decision making.
The spiritual retreat by Fr. Pascual Chavez SDB, former Rector Major of Salesians of Don Bosco highlighted the theme of the Chapter. He guided the Capitulars to reflect on consecrated life and its various dimensions, drawing inspirations from the life the Founder and Don Bosco. He underlined the need of bringing renewal in the members’ life and mission.
The session that followed the retreat helped to gain insights on the urgency of the mission and its challenges. Sr. Inigo SSA, former Superior General of St. Anne’s Congregation spoke to the Capitulars about the challenges of Consecrated Life in the modern world and stressed the need to face these with a contemplative and prophetic stand.
