Sr. Christine Mynsong, newly elected Superior General

Mother Christine Mynsong was elected as the 5th Superior General of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians on 27th January 2024 during the 10th General Chapter held at MSMHC Generalate, Hatigaon, Guwahati. 
Sr. Christine hails from Umden Village of Ri Bhoi District in Meghalaya. Raised up in a Catholic family that valued faith life, she grew up trusting in God, respecting her parents and elders. She entered the Congregation of MSMHC at Little Flower Convent, Malki in 1978. She made her first Religious Profession on 8 December 1982.
She completed B.Th from Vidya Jyoti Theological College, Delhi in the year 1994 and Masters in Counselling and Psychology from De La Salle University at Manila in 2006.
Sr. Christine Mynsong has served the congregation in various capacities as touring missionary, formator, superior and headmistress. She held the office of the Provincial Superior of Shillong from 2003-2004. Sr. Christine was a visiting faculty in the department of Psychology of Guwahati University and rendered her service as a professional counsellor in the Counselling cell of the Archdiocese of Guwahati. In 2012, during the 8th General Chapter, she was elected as General Councillor for Evangelisation, and in 2018 at the 9th General Chapter as Assistant General. 
Her wide range of experience in different fields of service stand in good stead as she takes up the role of the Superior General of the Congregation which has its presence in 13 countries around the globe.
