GERMANY
MSMHC German Mission- Ten years of dedicated service
This year 2025, the MSMHC mission in Germany reaches its tenth year of missionary journey marked with dedicated service specially directed to care for the elderly. Began on December 13, 2015 with three members, there are now ten sisters working in three different houses in the Trust of Cellitinnen, in the Archdiocese of Cologne. The centres where the MSMHC render their services are Meckenheim, Bad Münstereifel and Köln. The sisters carry out this mission of being compassionate caregivers to the elderly, brightening up their faces and bringing joy and grace in the evenings of their life. As Victor Hugo says, “When grace is joined with wrinkles, it is adorable. There is an unspeakable dawn in happy old age,” the sisters too find joy and grace in the happy faces of those they serve. In serving the elderly who have gathered wealth of experiences, they too learn life’s lessons, gain wisdom and knowledge, understand the meaning of love, compassion and relationship.
